Netvibes Widget

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Rich widget icon

If you haven’t yet, check out Netvibes. They’re doing very cool things over there, including what I just used, their Universal Widget API.

I’ve been wanting to look into their technology a little more since they announced it a while back, and tonight I finally got to. Turns out it’s really simple to do! Tonight I got a functioning widget working.

This first widget I made is pretty weak though, to be honest. But I’m big on getting software out there and of course there’s always time to upgrade! Future versions will likely utilize basic tabs and paging.

So without further ado, here it is. You can add this widget directly to your Netvibes page using the below fancy-shmancy image, but be sure to check out the page and leave feedback if you’re already on Netvibes. Thanks!

(Man, testing these things is a bitch. I hope somebody finds this useful!)

dirtyBeta’s First Yahoo! Widget

Friday, February 1st, 2008

Check out the first (second?) promotional offering — dirtyBeta New Software Releases Widget:

We’re working on fixing the broken image (it’s broken for all new Widgets). It’s a nasty (and embarrassing) bug leftover from the brand-new site launched a while back. Oh, and if you don’t have it yet, you’ll need to download Yahoo! Widget Engine, available for both Mac and Windows.
